The Houston Police Department lost a valuable member of their department when K9 Rony died in the line of duty on February 21, 2018. He is credited with 250 apprehensions while a member of the force.
According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, K9 Rony’s handler released him to help with an apprehension in a heavily wooded area. One of his legs got stuck in a wooden object and the K9 suffered a serious injury. Officers took K9 Rony to a veterinary hospital where it was determined the most humane treatment would be to euthanize him.
We thank K9 Rony for the seven years of service with the Houston Police Department. Please show your support by leaving a comment below.
