Our K9 officers are very important members of law enforcement. They help in rescues, tracking down suspects and solving crimes. It is a very dangerous job which becomes even more indisputable when a K9 is killed in the line of duty.
K9 Bane of the Phoenix Police Department was killed on April 17, 2018. According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, the K9 died while officers were apprehending two suspects. Officers released K9 Bane to apprehend one of the subjects who was hiding from police. The exact cause of death is not known. K9 Bane spent two years with the Phoenix Police Department.
